Using Nicotine (Parasympathomimetic) in treatment of angina
** Warning this is just a medical student thought
this is my idea
why not to use something like nicotine for ttt of angina,
I mean the attack it self,
knowing that sympathetic and parasympathetic supply for the heart are vasodilators
using sympathomimetics are not wise as they increase the heart work and needs for oxygen.
on the othe hand parasympathomimetics decrease heart work and oxygen needs, yet remain vasodilators on coronaries
I knew there is chewable nicotine for anginal attack but is now obsolete due to addiction.
Isn't there any way to give another parasympathomimetic
I personally knew a case of angina that was advised to stop smoking and when he did the anginal attack frequency increased, this may be an evidence that nicotine may delay angina in atherosclerotic patients
